In 2007 Musgnug & Associates moved into a new building our firm designed and built at 1907 Bayview Avenue in Barnegat Light. For the previous 12 years Musgnug & Associates and the Tiber Company had been located in Surf City. Both companies are owned and operated by Robert Musgnug, and work hand in hand here on Long Beach Island.

Musgnug & Associates is a full service architectural firm working on projects from Maine to the Florida Keys including several projects in the Caribbean. For the past 12 years our firm has specialized in designing coastal homes ranging in style from the ultra modern, to our favorite classic shore shingle style. The Tiber Company is a custom residential construction firm. Our experience has taught us how to put a building together to stand up to the harsh coastal climates and how to navigate through the various agencies necessary to obtain a building permit.

While Musgnug & Associates designs houses up and down the East Coast, The Tiber Company only builds on Long Beach Island. The Tiber Company grew out of Robert Musgnug’s construction experience prior to becoming a registered architect and of his experience managing the construction of Robert W. Johnson’s 18,000 sq.ft. estate in Bedminster, NJ. It is our belief that after spending months working with the client on the design of their home, that if the architect stayed intimately involved in the construction process the result would be a better building. This design/build method is ideally suited for Long Beach Island. Most clients’ proximity to LBI places limitations on site visits, therefore the one point of responsibility for their project is a welcomed feature of our companies’ commitment to fine home building.

Just as the price of real estate has risen significantly on Long Beach Island, so have the expectations of our clients for these new multi-million dollar homes. The strength of our process is in the construction staff. As the design is nearing completion our selection’s coordinator begins working with the client in picking everything that will go into the home from door styles and trim to lighting fixtures and appliances. The selection’s coordinator assist the client throughout the construction process with the many decisions that need to be made. Upon completion of the architectural drawings and the selections document, the key member of the build process, the Project Manager, takes over scheduling the job and ordering the materials necessary for the work. The Musgnug & Associates and Tiber Company team work together daily to ensure the overall quality and commitment to building excellence. Our staff is here to receive and address any questions the client may have about the design or construction process. The increased customization and detailing of the homes on Long Beach Island that we are building, led us to the creation our new building in Barnegat Light to better meet our clients expectations.

Musgnug & Associates typically works on 25-30 projects a year, while the Tiber Company only builds 4-5 unique homes a year.
